                         KIA MOTORS
KIA is a part of the Hyundai Motor Group, which has its Hyundai and Genesis brands of passenger cars in its portfolio.  Together they are now the world's fourth largest car maker behind Volkswagen, Toyota and General Motors.

              HISTORY OF KIA MOTORS

Kia is South Korea's oldest car manufacturer and was founded in 1944 as the manufacturer of Qingsung Precision Industry - Steel tubing and bicycle parts.  It also created Korea's first indigenous bicycle - Samchuli in 1951.  It started construction of the Honda motorcycle under Mazda trucks in 1957 as well as in license in 1962.  In 1974, partnership with Mazda increased cars too.  In the late 1919s and early 80s, Kia also made Fiat and Peugeot under license.  Its own brand cars only flew close to 1990 when it made cars in partnership with Ford (and therefore Mazda, which Ford was controlling)

                   ABOUT KIA MOTORS
